The Attorney General's Office of Mexico City announced on Tuesday the linking to process of Virginia “N” and Diana “N” for the crime of dispossession of a property in the Del Valle neighborhood.
The two women were arrested last week for invading a property on Matías Romero Street. However, the detainees have been implicated in more cases in the area.
Authorities indicated that in the hearing held on Tuesday, the Public Prosecutor presented evidence, interviews with victims and witnesses, analysis of video recordings, and fieldwork by elements of the Investigation Police (PDI).
In light of this, the judge determined the linking to process of Virginia “N” and Diana “N,” in addition to imposing the precautionary measure of preventive detention and setting a two-month deadline for the closure of the investigation.
The victims' defense told the press that they refused to reach a reparatory agreement despite the law providing for it, as it is a property crime without violence.
Last Wednesday, capital authorities confirmed the arrest of the two women in the Doctores neighborhood, and according to reports, they were in a café; they were later made available to the control judge of the Santa Martha Acatitla Women's Social Reintegration Center.
In recent days, residents of the Benito Juárez borough have protested with road closures to demand that capital authorities address reports of property dispossession.
