Ramón Ángel "N", alias "R1", alleged intellectual author of the homicide of the former mayor of Uruapan, Michoacán,
will be transferred to the federal high-security prison of Altiplano after the imputation hearing was postponed at the request of his defense, arguing that he was not allowed access to the investigation file.
In a hearing held via video conference from the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime (FEMDO), the Control Judge of the Federal Criminal Justice Center in Altiplano in Almoloya de Juárez, State of Mexico, granted the recess requested early Tuesday morning, March 4, and it is expected to resume at 08:00 hours.
It is anticipated that at the conclusion of this hearing, Ramón Ángel "N" will be transferred to the Federal Penal Number 1, in Altiplano.
"The R1," operator and leader of one of the factions of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), was arrested last Thursday, July 30.
The federal public security secretary, Omar García Harfuch, stated that there is information to ensure that this criminal leader planned the homicide of Carlos Manzo that occurred on November 1, 2025.
Following his capture, he was placed in preventive detention for the crimes of possession of methamphetamine hydrochloride, illegal possession of firearms, and possession of cartridges exclusively for military use.
It is worth noting that Ramón Ángel is the leader of "Los Rs," a faction of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) dedicated to drug trafficking, extortion, and arms trafficking; he is also accused of participating in the femicide of influencer Valeria Márquez.
